Mike's Story
Mike Perkins has spent his entire adult life serving his country and his community.
His service began in the United States Air Force, where he served for four years. He went on to a 34-year career as a police officer, walking the same streets and protecting the same families he now hopes to represent again in Augusta.
Mike previously served three terms representing District 66 in the Maine House of Representatives from 2016 to 2022. During that time, he built a reputation as a straightforward, common-sense legislator who put Oakland first.
Close to home, Mike has served as Chair of the Oakland Town Council for 20 years — guiding the town through good times and tough times, and learning firsthand what it takes to keep a community strong.
Mike is also a small business owner, running four small businesses right here in town. He knows what it means to meet payroll, deal with regulations, and serve customers every single day.
Most importantly, Mike is a family man. He and his wife Kelly have raised two children together and are now proud grandparents to four grandkids. It's his family, his neighbors, and the next generation of Oakland kids that motivate him to step forward and serve once again.
